South africa is dynamic and diverse country with lots to offer the tourist . We have a variety of foods which will get you mouth watering and offer you a sumpsous and tasteful meal. South Africa has many sub cultures and here are a few of them and the tasty treats they offer:

Afrikaans

The afrikaans are known to invent the Braai which is a fire which cooks meat . With the braai is a host of traditional food such as Boerewors , pap and beans . If you visit south Africa it is essential that you experience a braai. The afrikaans also invented the potjie kos which is a delious stew with a variety of vegatable and meats in it .... add a few spices ...some read wine and grab some bread , pap or rice and your set.

English

The english came to south africa with a host of traditions which have been carried through and added varity to the south african meals , high tea at the Mount Neslon is a classic example . This treat has a range of great cakes and is well worth a visit. There is also a tea room at Rhodes Memorial when you can indulge in the great english past time.

Zulu

The zulu brought meilie meal ,casava bread ( a flat bread baked with cheese and yogurt) and .For a full introduction to the african culture , the drums must be beating and huge fire with singing in the background.

Coloured

The coloured have a range of dishes to suit your needs , be it a big gatsby (a foot long with meat or salad in it) or samp and beans .

Indian

Spices to light your fire , the indians brought butter chicken , rice salad and chic pea patties all this to suit your taste buds.

Exotic dishes

Hunting has been a great past time in South Africa and you can taste some of the great animals our country has to offer , be it Kudu , crocodile or even some wild fish like tuna or crayfish.

Wine

South Africa is a top wine producer and has many great wine farms ... do not forget to stop by one of these and taste some great wines.
